Harry Poyner is correct, of course.
In technical terms, the 'extension' of Anglia-10 to 12 is a perfectly
respectable (classical) EJK/SJK. However, one of the purely arbitrary
restrictions is that JK above (extension starting by repeating the sections
with treble moving from 8ths to 10ths) is not allowed.
I have previously opined that this is wrong - see my remarks on Alliance
minor extension - 3/1/05 msg#2. (In fact this is only half right).
The correct version is that, if the have an alliance method with only one
extreme different section, i.e., mainly dodging except two changes of plain
at the start or end or vice versa, the only extension allowed is to continue
to have the one different section. Anglia-10 has one, but Anglia-12 has two.
See (draft) www.robinw.org.uk/genall.doc
pabs, we know, seems to be happy with this situation - see remarks at
4/1/05 - msg#1. What does anyone else think? Hard cases make bad law!
Best wishes
Robin
