I thought the point of a natural frequency of
vibration meant that the bell would always rotate at
the same speed (assuming that sin(x) is approximately
equal to x, i.e. for small angles). The speed of the
bell is really varied by ringing it up to the balance
and holding there for more or less time.

Or is it?
