I sometimes sit down with Rosie at her xylophone and attempt to bash out
some plain hunt on eight, or some set changes like Queens. (I'm not a very
good xylophonist, to say the least). I've noticed an interesting effect,
which I suppose is well-known, that the same notes played to a different
rhythm become a completely different tune. Play queens as
DAH .... .... dah-dah-dah ... ... DAH! ... ... dah...dah-DAH
...and it's something quite new, to my ear anyway.
Not sure it will catch on with towerbells. Handbells or synthesized...
interesting.
