There are other, more succinct, if even more confusing, possibilities
than using plain changes. For example,

(3.1.25.3.347.5.569.7.78E.9.90)

and myriad others. Though none shorter than eleven normal changes.

It is a scheme reasonably convenient for things like Cambridge Treble
Jump, but, as you note, inordinately cumbersome for more general jump
change constructions, and probably best rejected as a general tool.
