I have been investigating the history of the bells at St Gomonda's Parish C=
hurch, Roche, Cornwall since moving here last year. I have come up with the=
following -

1. The inventory compiled during the reign of Edward VI, say around 1550=
, shows that Roche had "iiij bellys". This information is recorded in the C=
hurch Bells of Cornwall by Dunkin which was published in the 1880's. To dat=
e, I have found nothing further about these bells.=20

2. In 1819, a new ring of six bells, tenor 7/1/22, were cast by John Rud=
hall of Gloucester.=20

3. In 1910/1911, the ring was remodelled. Two tenors were added and bell=
s 1, 4 and 5 were recast. The bells were hung in a new metal frame with all=
new fittings, the work being carried out by Mears & Stainbank. The present=
tenor is 12/0/13 in F sharp.=20=20

It is my intention to visit County Hall, Truro shortly to inspect the paper=
s they hold. Meantime, I am open to receive any further information others =
may have.

Thank you.
