I've just acquired some photos of the Imperial Institute bells (thanks
Bill) They are a Taylor ten of 1893, since rehung on cast iron stocks.
The back six were clearly, from the shape of the crown, cast without
canons. THe front 4, on the other hand, appear to have had canons of some
sort, possibly flange tops? Does anyone know?
On the same theme, Taylor's cast a near identical ten earlier in the same
year for Newcastle (now 12). Does anyone know about type of canons, or
absence of them, on these bells?
David
