[Bell Historians] clappers

I remember hearing a story about a special clapper in the tenor at the
Pierhead, Liverpool. Apparently Eayre & Smith developed a plastic clapper
after numerous breakages.

Anyone else heard the story ???!!!!

I heard one day a gentleman say that if you could attach an iron ball to a
Carbon Fibre shaft you would ahve the best of clappers. Yes please some
research - it has been raining clappers at Leeds recently - an SG for the
eleventh only managed a year and a bit!
