Talking of venerable old bells, some will remember the letter to the Ring=
ing World regarding the inscription of a very ancient bell discovered in a =
remote country church which read:

ITI SAPIS POTAND ATI NONE

This was a hoax (as those who rearrange the spaces between the letters wi=
ll see), sparking a witty rebuke to the (then) editor from someone who clai=
med to have found another old bell inscribed
