Old Ropes

Some of the ropes at Coventry Cathedral are the originals from the 
installation in 1987. Mind you, they have had new a couple of top 
ends and a tail end each! ;-)

I seem to remember some old 4 strand ropes at Leighton Bromswold that 
were reputedly already ancient when I rang there 10 years ago. ISTR 
that the Huntingdon Bell Restoration Group reused ropes on a ring 
that they had restored from decades of unringability.
