David Cawley has replied to suggest Day of Eye as the founder of the
small bell at St Edmund=92s. It=92s a possibility, certainly; but the bell
has a more professional air about it than the Silfield bell. The latter
is difficult to get at without a long ladder now it hangs in a bellcote
at Holy Trinity, Spooner Row. Unfortunately I have no photograph of the
Spooner Row bell that gives enough detail to compare the canons.
