Wells Cathedral were rehung by Blackbourne 1890/91 the fittings were  
supplied by Taylors. 
The two trebles were supplied by M&S (sadly - the treble in particular  is a 
foul bell).
All that remains of the original Taylor gear is the wheels and the 8th  
Clapper, everything else having been replaced over the years, mostly by  
Whitechapel.  The cast iron Blackbourne & Greenleaf frame is  superb.
 
I can only assume that Mears were cheaper for bells at the time and Taylors  
were cheaper for fittings.
