"A further confusion is the fact that Pierhead trebles are longer
waisted than the standard profile bell and consequently have a different
tonal character to them."
Do you know what the reason for this was? Is it just to add weight? The
Taylor 12 of a similar weight at Leeds, cast 20 years earlier, have
trebles of what appears visually to be a standard profile.
