An article in the Practical Magazine of 1885 records that 10,000 house bells, cast by Messrs Scholefield, Son & Goodman, each of 12oz. weight were supplied to a West African Prince to adorn his new iron palace. Has anybody any information on this founder and did they cast larger bells?
In the same article it states that steel bells were cast in Dundyvan Iron Works, Scotland and in Dublin. Does anybody know of existing bells cast at these locations?
