It has been spelt in several different ways, just not "St Cathrin de
Cree" as originally offered. Though Michael RK is right in the current
spelling (hasty typing on my part). The 'Cree' bit is a diminutive of
'Christ', and the other historic references to 'Creechurch' translate to
'Christ Church'. 

"It all comes down to the same Church, which has an unringable peal of
bells."

Not quite. The front 5 are now ringable ... with care :)
