She was launched at Woolwich in 1820, so possibly a Whitechapel bell? The
ship was broken up in 1870, but further than that I don't know.
I could however ask one of our congregation at Christ Church, Claremont, who
is a world-renowned expert on Charles Darwin. He might have some clues.

I am researching the bell of HMS beagle on which Charles Darwin made his
great adventures, and wondered if you might have recourse to some
information. I know it is distant from your regular bell casting and
installation work, but it is difficult to know who to ask about such
