For some reason can't find the photo on Bell Historians.   However, a large number of bells were cast by all the bell founders of the time during the Second World War.  For example a bell now at Haddington, Lincolnshire has the inscription 1943 [Arrow] ATW  [Arrow] A [Crown] M   G & J      See Lincolnshire Bells and Bellfounders page 103

  It appears not to be a ship's bell, but more likely fron one of the WW II airfields there (which my late uncle helped construct when in the Pioneer Corps). I'm fairly certain A.M. indicates the UK Air Ministry; I'm sure I've seen similar bells on UK Air Bases.
