Not if you use either plastic coated mesh or stainless steel!

 

As Andrew says, if it’s a listed building, fitting wire to the outside would
need permission.

If the louvres are deep and / or shallowly-pitched the birds might still
roost on them, and the guano tends to rust any netting on the inside
rapidly. By netting the outside this cannot happen.
