A bell has been stolen from a church in the east of Scotland - see
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/8609877.stm .

Historically Marykirk was is Kincardineshire rather than Aberdeenshire so it
isn't covered in Ranald Clouston's survey of the county. However it is
included in F C Eeles' study of 1897; he says that it is T. Mears 1826, with
a diameter of 17 1/4 inches. He also says that the weight was claimed to be
2cwt. As the diameter given by the police is slightly different it is
possible that it may have been replaced since - does anyone know?
