We are talking, presumably, about engraving prints of these bells - rather than engraving the bells themselves.
There's no mention of Searl in the text of Chris McKay's recent and comprehensive account of Big Ben - an excellent book that deserves a big promitional plug on this list (if you haven't got it, it IS a book to buy). However, it's possible that Searl was responsible for one of the engravings - and the book does include most of the contemporary illustrations of the bells. Engravers often get overlooked in captions and credits, although artists and publishers tend to get mentioned
PS Big Ben: The Great Clock and the Bells at the Palace of Westminster by Chris McKay (Oxford University Press, 2010) - cost £42.50
