I was with the architect for the project yesterday, Derek Latham, who is my partner on the St John's Hanley project. He was saying they had found these tubular bells 'lying about' and wanted to know what to do with them. Not sure that is very helpful, but I will at least feed back to Derek what has been said here.

List members will be interested to know however that Hanley is making good progress. HLF and EH are interested in funding, local ringer Tim Davis is taking an active role in getting the project running, and the wheels are in motion in terms of setting up the Charity to lease the tower and start the fund raising.

I have over the years come across several towers where there is active interest in chiming sets of tubular and/or hemispherical bells, but there doesn't seem to be any co-ordinating body for them.

These bells have been brought inside and are currently stored on the church balcony - which is not easily accessible due to poor structural condition of the balcony.
