My guess is that in this location Naylor Vickers would have hung them dead, but you never know…

I see that the three steel bells by Naylor Vickers (1860's?) have been removed from the (closed) Trinity Church in Irvine and put on display.

 

Did anyone ever get up the tower before they were removed and note how they were hung? I have attached a pic from the web of the bells after they had been removed. They are now supposed to be on display on stone plinths in Irvine.

 

Also, has anyone seen the three steel bells at Hoddom, also in Scotland? Geoff Armitage is supposed to have seen them, but I understand that an email to him about the bells didn't get a response.
