Thanks, and to Chris too for his helpful response.  I 
finally got around to tracking down and buying a copy of 
Elphick's Sussex last week, but it's yet to arrive and I'm 
not sure it will before my article needs to be finished. 
Would it be too much of an imposition to ask for a summary 
of his evidence for the 1515 date?
