That might not be such a bad idea at that!
I have never got used to the new funny money, every time I come home
I'm like a stranger trying to deal with it but with my still fairly
thick Leicestershire accent, shop keepers assume that I've spent the
last 30 years in gaol (or is it jail nowadays?)
When they did decide to introduce metric, the cost of anything above a
quid didn't alter all that much at first but under a pound it was
substantially altered. : Bus fare that used to be tuppence suddenly
became 8 p, the price of going to the gents on serious business used
to be one penny, but the 1 new p was so small that it wouldnt activate
the mechanism & the cost went up to (I think) 2 & a half new p (the
size of a real ha'pnee (how does one spell halfpenny the way it was
pronounced?
Whatever ....The economy received a considerable readjustment - NOT to
the benefit of the average beer drinker.

I agree entirely and actually prefer this system which is not at all
ambiguous - even calls at MWH can be ambiguous in say Bob Triples (
not that anyone ought to be ringing Bob Triples anyway, but that is
another argument)
