No - I think you were right the first time. If you ring all of the
possible half-leads the parity doesn't matter.


Being bored for five minutes I thought I would check this out so put 
together a 12 part peal of Plain bob with 40,320 changes

Then proved it against a number of a lead order surprise methods with 
different falseness all of which were true as an 80,640, which when thinking 
about it makes sense as  if you constructed the original peal in two equal 
parts with a single half way and end what was + in the the first part would 
be - in the second part and vice versa effectively equalling each out in an 
80,640.

you find out something new everyday!!!!!!
