Three points:

The argument for Grandsire/New Grandsire being the same method is surely
the same as Stedman/'New Stedman' - the latter using the usual
alternative start. In fact, since Stedman can be started at any of the
12 changes in the basic unit, couldn't we call them Stedman No1, Stedman
No 2, etc?

The 'lead shortening' device was allowed as a specific request from the
Birmingham Band for a bell being specified as principal hunt at any
point during a lead.

No one has mentioned St. Hilary Bob Minor. How can this be distinguished
from Plain Bob?

Best wishes
Robin
