I was in Valetta a few Christmases ago and chimed the bells - plain hunt
on six - on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately the verger didn't have time to
take me up to see the bells. They are chimed from a baton clavier with
widely spaced keys all made of metal. Nice big tower! To my ear they
sounded really rather good and must surely have been retuned if not recast.
